Is Programming Necessary? | How to Develop the Ability to Think Starting with After-school in Kitayamata, Yokohama<\/h1>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
Is programming necessary? A simple question that parents feel<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
Is programming really necessary for elementary school children? Isn't it too early for my child? We often hear such questions from parents and guardians. Programming may sound difficult, but in fact it is such an important skill that it has been called \"the reading, writing, and abacus of the future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As many of you may have heard, the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) has been promoting the compulsory training of elementary school students, and \"the ability to think for oneself and act in an orderly fashion\" is required in the coming age.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What is the difference from ordinary cram schools? Programs specialized for \"the ability to think<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
People tend to think that programming = computer operation, but in fact, the essence of programming is to acquire the \"ability to think logically\" and \"problem solving.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
While most cram schools focus on learning according to textbooks and preparing students for entrance exams, programming is more free and hands-on, allowing students to explore \"how it works\" and \"why it doesn't work\" on their own.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Exploratory learning, such as programming and 3D printers, are great opportunities to nurture logical thinking.
